TRIBUTE TO BINOD YONZONE
1951-2021
Back in the days when Beatles had a well-established fan base and millions of listeners (it still does today!), was one such person who was influenced to an extent that he mastered every chord and every lyric. Hailing from Kalimpong, Mr Binod Yonzone was one of the pioneers of rock music in this quaint small town. Not just an avid musician, who enjoyed painting too, Mr. Binod was the founder and proprietor of Cloud 9 restaurant- a space that was utilized not just for gastronomic indulgence but also to showcase talents in the field of music, arts and the like. It opened its gates to the public in 2001 and immediately transformed itself into a haven of good moments where countless memories were created. So much did he adore the Beatles that he named the small strip of road in front of Cloud 9 as Abbey Road, written on a plate, that remains to this day.
